I bought these shoes primarily to be worn at work. I am currently a full-time waitress and needed black shoes which had good traction, excellent support, and a relatively breathable material. These shoes met all these standards and more. The back aches I suffered from my old shoes are nonexistent now. I love these new shoes so much that I'm considering investing in the brown pair for every day wear because I find myself wearing my work shoes for more occasions than just work, which I'm afraid might lead to them wearing out sooner. Some people might find these on the heavy side for being on your feet for a long time, but I prefer solid support and structure so they work for me. I still have some breathability issues, but I think that's just a function of what I do and no shoe will fully eliminate this problem. Finally, I have narrow feet, but a big shoe size (10.5) so I often find my feet sliding around in the shoes I end up buying. Again these shoes fit perfectly and keep my foot secure. I have another pair of Keens which also fit my foot very well so I think it must be a function of their design to be very form-fitting. I highly recommend these shoes.
